In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Jetpack install issuesI tried that initially, and got this: http://i42.tinypic.com/2uizoqp.jpg
but i’ll be damned there sure arent any wp-admin folders in there i dunno where i dreamed that up from.
Also, simply uploading via ftp resolved this issue entirely. I almost went this direction first but wanted to try the new interfaces yall included in the program. I am very stoked to use jetpack, thanks for the support.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Jetpack install issuesOther plugins do work. I just installed one to make sure.
I believe initially the wp-content directory was CHMOD 755 but i changed it to 777 to be safe, i’ll go back to 755 at the discretion of the link you provided.
I was wanting to simple install the plug in manually but when i extracted the zip i saw all sorts of wp-admin and other directories in there that look different than other (simpler) plugins which utilize a /plugin/ directory only (i didnt want to mix a bunch of files in my wp directories then not be able to remove them if the manual install failed)
plus i wasnt really sure a manual install would work seeings how it wasnt suggested as either of the two installation options.

In reply to: Jetpack 2.2,2 Wont install from HTTP, wont install from zipHello again, just trying to bump this thread as I am still suffering from this problem, do i need to create an account on wordpress.com ? I thought the plugin averted this requirement, I desperately need tracking stats on my wordpress and cannot install the plugin neither thru the wp interface nor thru a simple zip plugin install.
Since I posted the first thread i’ve tried changing the permissions of the wp-content folder to 777 without any luck installing afterwards (thru either interface)
When I upload a zip I get the following error:
http://i42.tinypic.com/2uizoqp.jpgAlso when I try the interface it just seems to state that I’m “downloading jetpack” but it nevers proceeds from there.
