Well here it is almost a year later and I am experiencing the same time out problems but I am using the latest version of wordpress. It is 2.9.2 I think. I can get in to my admin if I reboot my internet connection but as soon as I try to do anything it times out. I can refresh but it does not help.
People think it maybe a robot putting malware on my site through a hole in a plugin or something.
All in all very frustrating
