I had the same issue. I am using Safari on a Mac. My current version of WP is 3.0.5. I had to deactivate ALL my other plugins first. Then I uploaded the new images into my gallery. The thumbnails were generated no problem. I was also using the Effects for NextGEN Gallery. Hope this helps.

I read on another forum that said to rename the “plugins” folder because it, for some reason, is causing some problem. They didn’t explain why, but I was desperate.
I changed my “plugins” folder to “plugins11” (I just picked something simple). This allowed me to review every part of my site.
I then downloaded my “plugins11” folder, so I didn’t lose a couple of the premium plugins I purchased, and uploaded the new plugins folder from a fresh 3.0.5 download.
I still couldn’t see any of my public pages beyond the homepage, so I changed my permalinks back to default. I figured I could deal with that issue later. Now I can see everything.
Thank you all for your info! I’m back on track!

In reply to: reinstall wordpress and not lose contentI have the same issue. I did exactly as you described in the email trail above, but when I attempt to go to anything beyond the dashboard, I get nothing but a white screen.
What do I do now?
In the left hand column of your dashboard, go to GALLERY > OPTIONS > THUMBNAILS
