In reply to: WordPress XML import into a CategoryThank you, the idea of using a third blog as an intermediary step worked. It proved a very slow process but everything is working correctly now.
For anyone having problems with importing into an existing blog using a wordpress XML I should point out that you need to disable the WP-Cache plugin beforehand! This was massively screwing up my imports (creating duplicate categories, not assigning posts to correct categories, not loading in all posts on import, very slow) and it took a while for me to realize the cause.

In reply to: Creating a custom RSS feed based on custom key valueI’d like to do exactly the same thing – I’m looking for an RSS feed that only publishes excerpts and posts in the feed if they have more than 100 words. In reply to: Can’t update permalink structureCare to offer an explanation as to why? The two domains equally share the same hosting/database. And all the admin stuff functions correctly from the domain.

In reply to: Can’t update permalink structureI had mine working but I have just recently changed the URL of the site (no files have changed, just a new domain points at the file and I changed the URL of the main blog) but now the permalinks refuse to work. Im not using any plugins.
