Here is the link for what appears for my front page/homepage in Google Analytics . It’s just blank with a forward slash. Ideally, should it say /home or /fussymug.com?
Though I understand that Google chooses meta descriptions based on what they think is best. I’m wondering if Google is having trouble figuring out what my homepage/front page is, if its not named properly.
Hello. Thank you so much for your response. My website is http://www.fussymug.com. I was able to clear one of the errors for the meta description. But the meta description has not been updated for the homepage when I do a google search for my website. Is there a way to fix this?
Also, I’m still getting an error message for the alt tags that states “Some images on your page have no alt attribute.” Even though I have manually added back in all of the alt text for each image. Any suggestions?
Lastly. It doesn’t appear that Google recognizes the front page of my site as the homepage. For example, when I go into Google Analytics instead of it reading forward slash home (/home) for the front page. It just has a forward slash with no title (/). Doesn’t this impact SEO if Google can’t tell which page is my home page? How do I change the name of my front page so Google recognizes it as my front page? I’m unsure how to do this since the front page is automatically generated.
I suspect this may also be why the metadata is incorrect when searching Google for my website. But I’m not sure.

I understand that pages and posts get optimized. But how exactly do you optimize a homepage? My homepage is the front page of my website. It’s not a separate page that I created. Is there a way to add keywords or a meta description to my WordPress “front page” to let Google know that it’s my homepage?
