Deactivated Jetpack’s Tiled Galleries module, and also deactivated every plugin except Jetpack, the issue still persists.
Does the fact that the gallery is attached to a page have anything to do with it?
That’s fairly standard, so I don’t think this should be a problem.
I didn’t think so either but asked just in case.
Anything else I should try?

It loads in random order with every one of the gallery types, except as mentioned with “Slideshow”
Not only does it load the images in random order but it also loads images that aren’t part of the gallery, in fact it even loads the featured image when viewing individual pictures.
in Text editor, there’s no specific order or orderby parameter, however there is an order in the shortcode as you can see:
[gallery ids="137,136,256,143,147,129,128,141,127,126,224,138"]
noting again, it doesn’t just load in random order but loads images which aren’t included in the gallery as well 🙁

Hi Jeremy thanks for the response.
I do not have “Random” selected in the gallery settings, and also as I mentioned if I choose “Slide Show” as the display type the pictures show up in the correct order.
Anything else I should check? I’d like to stay with Jetpack galleries, would it be simpler if I try another gallery plugin?
