Time to clean my desktop! I had planned to do this install several weeks ago and had downloaded and extracted 2.1 to a folder which I forgot was on my desktop. It was the first one that appeared in my FTP client and the one that got installed. DOH!

This is a fresh, first time install from the .zip linked to on the main download page. Downloaded about 2hrs ago. The file is labeled 2.1.2
I am new to WP and wonder why they obfuscate the version #. I had to search the forums to find out where to look, and even then I wasn’t sure. The way it is displayed, 2.1 – x.xx seconds, makes it look like part of the page creation time.

Should the dashboard display 2.1.x? Or does it just show the series #?
