In reply to: wp-login.php blank after loginI discovered that the reason for the blank page was I didn’t deactivate all my plugins before I upgraded.
I had to reinstall WP2.3 and do it again. After I deactivated the plugins and then reinstalled WP2.5 everything was fineForum: Installing WordPress

The basics:
You must deactivate all your plugins first!!!!!
Most times your password is wrong after the update.
Go to your mysql database – Click on the “browse” button over “Users”
The new page will show us your info for uses. Your password is encrypted or whatever and looks like goobly gop. Delete this and put in either your original password or a new one. Then click on the fold down button to the left of the password you just entered. Select MD5 This is very important or it won’t work. That’s it …. you should be able to get into your upgraded wordpressForum: Installing WordPress

I was then able to get into the dashboard. I deactivated all the plugins. I then started over with wordpress 2.5. This time it worked. You must deactivate the plugins. Many won’t work with the new 2.5

How can I deactivate plug in as I can’t get into the dashboard. Should I so something to the wp-admin/edit.php page as suggested above?

In reply to: Problem After Renaming WordPress FolderWhen I’m in VDec there is a link that says Domain Admin This hyperlink is what takes me to the dashboard etc. However on review of the hyperlink – this is what it says
http://findasecretlover.com/WordPress/wp-admin/index.phpSomehow though I’ve changed the phpdatabase blog address and wordpress address etc this hyperlink is staying the same. It should be going to the the new folder “loveblog”
Now when I physically type in http://findasecretlover.com/loveblog/wp-admin/index.php I can signin and get to the dashboard

In reply to: Problem After Renaming WordPress FolderYesterday I simply tried to create a new folder and follow the directions by moving the index.php file (and changing it as per the directions) and the htaccess file to the new folder and altering the home and blog url address. I couldn’t get that to work so the moderator suggested I was making my life complicated and I should simply rename the WordPress folder. I put everything back to it’s orignal condition and started over

http://mysite.com/WordPress/wp-admin/index.phpSomehow it’s still trying to pull up the WordPress folder that has been renamed yet the php admin panel both home and the blog url are reading the http://mysite.com/newfolder
And like I say, the blog is fine it’s pulling properly from the newfolder
