Can’t you just upload the video to your site, type some text into a post/page and link it to the video setting it to open in a new window? That’s what I’ve done at the link below…I linked the image, but could have linked text the same way.

but I dont think it fixes paths to images on normal pages Ive created in WP does it ?

It does if you search/replace the url…they are all in the db.

I don’t know the answer to your question about relative paths…maybe someone else can help with that.

You could dump your db, do a search/replace on the url, drop the tables and import the corrected sql file. See the db editing part of the following video:

There may also be a search/replace plugin that may work as well, but either way, you need to backup your db before attempting this.

Do you mean “post revisions”?

If so, they are stored in the wp_posts table in the database. They will all be identified with “revision” in the “post_type” field. You can run a query in phpMyAdmin to delete all the revisions if you want, but there is really no need to do that unless we are talking hundreds of thousands and you think this may improve your db performance.

If you do attempt to delete them, be sure to take a good backup first…just in case…

If I understand what you want correctly, then you don’t need to create a custom page template. Just creat a page with a title “Updates”, or whatever you want it called…leave the content empty and publish it. Then go to Settings/Reading and select a Static Frontpage and set it to the page containing info about you…select your “Updates” page as your post page.
