Actually I think there is an error in the nginx sample conf.

You have to include rules generated by W3 TC (nginx.conf in your WP directory) in your webserver config.
include /path/to/wp_directory/nginx.conf;
What do you mean when you say it’s not working? What is exactly not working in your case?
