May I ask the technical reason why this happens? Is it a limitation on PayPal’s end, on Braintree’s end, or is it something that could be adjusted in the plugin’s code to make the behavior match in both environments?
Even though the quirk won’t affect the live site, it’s generally nice when the sandbox environment matches the live environment as much as possible so that the testing experience is as representative as possible of a real client’s workflow.
@mrclayton – Thanks for testing it. We’ll be trying it out in production soon, so I’ll let you know how it goes.
Out of curiosity though, what happens if you test it with a subscription? Does it still work on your end even when paying for a subscription in sandbox mode?
@mrclayton – Thanks for the quick reply. Are you positive that that’s the case, though? On our other sites (which use different PayPal plugins), we’ve always been able to use the PayPal balance for both the live and sandbox environment.
