    Onsia,

    Sorry to hear your having an image issue. Could you send me a dev URL that I could look at?

    I’m glad you enjoy the plugin.

    Patrick,

    The plugin is using the get_the_excerpt() wordpress tag. That by default strips out the html tags from the post content. The reason being people put all kinds of html into their posts and you wouldn’t want say an image getting cut off halfway through the html code if the excerpt length is too short.

    That being said you can maintain HTML by putting it into the Excerpt field on a post. When you’re editing a post you should see a box for Excerpt. If you don’t see it turn it on by going to the Screen Options tab at the top of the post. Make sure Excerpt is checked off.

    Then you can put the HTML code into the xcerpt and it will display it in the tile. For instance I put

    <ul>
    	<li>Thing One</li>
    	<li>Thing Two</li>
    	<li>Thing Three</li>
    </ul>

    Into the excerpt and it displays it inside of the tile.

    Post Tiles was never designed to have HTML inside of them so by default the plugin CSS will make your list items huge because they inherit their parent li styling (the tile). So you will need to add some additional CSS to your theme like this.

    ul#post-tiles li li {
    	width: auto;
    	height: auto;
    	display: block;
    	clear: both;
    }

    That should reset the styling in the list to look correct.

    I hope that helps. Please keep us posted on how things go.

    I’m going to mark this topic as resolved.

    Do you mind sharing what it was that you did incase someone stumbles across this page for the same issue?

    Hmm I’m not sure if there is a limit. Do you have a URL I can look at?

    At the moment it’s a low priority on the features list. Given the nature of post an pages operating differently ie categories vs parent sibling relationships it should be its own plugin. Perhaps in the future I or someone will make it.

    Since pages tend to be more static a similar setup could be done with CSS and JavaScript.

    Strange. I’m not sure what’s going on. I looked at the plugin txt file via the url – http://www.marshmallowgunmusic.com/wp-content/plugins/post-tiles/readme.txt and you’ll notice that the 7th row down the “Stable tag: 1.3.5” it’s version 1.3.5. The latest update is vs 1.3.7. So it must have run into an error updating the plugin. I’d recommend going into the plugin folder and deleting the entire plugin via FTP. Then go back through wordpress and add it again.

    Hmmm. So strange. It seemed to be fixed on the test site. So now I’m thinking it might be a conflict in the .fade class. Check the frontend js file and try changing all instances of .fade to .ptfade. Let me know if that helps.

    Ok take too. I think I actually fixed it this time. Sorry for the false fix. jQuery was adding a duplicate class to the list item and the anchor causing some fading issues. I’m committing the changes now. You should see version 1.3.7.

    Please let me know if that solves the issue.

    I forgot to make a few updates to the plugin files so they didn’t update to 1.3.6 I corrected that you should be able to download 1.3.6 now.

    Yup looks like there’s a bug. I fixed it and posted an updated version to the repository. You should see version 1.3.6 show up shortly. Go ahead and update to that and let me know if it solved your issue.

    At the moment there isn’t a way to automatically pull in the images from inside the posts. You have to go back and assign featured images. But if you’ve already uploaded the images to put them in posts, they should already be in the media library.

    To add this plugin to the category page or any theme file you can use a code like this.

    <?php echo do_shortcode('[post-tiles posts="10"]') ?>

    Just keep in mind that for the php include short code you need to use double quotes not single.

    Does that answer your question?

    It could be a jQuery conflict. That plugin is over 2 years old and could be importing an outdated jQuery file.

    If you aren’t using featured images you can disable jQuery from the Post Tiles settings page. Give that a try.

    If that does’t work try going into the Post-Tiles.php plugin and remove line 446. That will remove the call to snag jQuery.

    echo "<script type='text/javascript' src='http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.1/jquery.min.js'></script>";

    Let me know if either of those help.
