    I’m not totally sure but I think it may have something to do with your theme css files being called after the plugin css files. Go into your theme’s header.php file and look for the <?php wp_head(); ?> and make sure that it get’s called after the css files for the theme.

    CSS is applied in order from when it’s called so if an anchor is targeted and then targeted again later it overrides the other one.

    If that doesn’t fix it you can use the !important tag in the css to override other css. Try adding this to your themes css file

    #post-tiles li a {
    	color: #ffffff !important;
    }
    #post-tiles li.featured-image.up a {
    	color: #688848 !important;
    }
    li.featured-image.up h3 {
    	color: #2b86aa !important;
    	border-bottom: 1px dotted #2b86aa;
    }

    I updated the plugin and made it so that users could choose the placement of the category key. Top, bottom or both.

    I’m on a tablet at the moment so I can’t give you the proper direction. There’s a balance of animation, margin that accompany the height. You should be able to modify a couple lines and have it output the correct look. I’ll swing back this week and give you a better answer. Let me know if you find a reasonable solution.

    Thanks for coming back and position a URL to the solution for others. I appreciate it.

    Could you email me a URL to your test site. I’m thinking 1. Is related to a JavaScript conflict maybe?

    2. I just added the pagination so there might be a bug or two. I’ll have to test your URL to see why the values aren’t working.

    3. ATM the color picker creates hexadecimal values for the background color. I haven’t looked into RBG options which would allow for css3 transparency. Sounds possible. I’ll add it to the possible features list for future updates.

    DKH,

    ATM there isn’t any built in way to omit the first post without modifying the plugin. I’ll add an omit post option to the possible features list. That seems like a request that might help a number of people.

    I haven’t widgetized it yet. That would probably solve adding into my our archive page.

    I’m not sure I totally follow you on flipping through the categories pages. Right now the categories in the category key simply bring to focus those posts which are in that category on that page.

    Saw that this was resolved but for other users who look here the short code needs to be placed in either a post or a page. However if your homepage is the blog page (WordPress Default) you will have to switch the homepage to be a page in your settings. And then find a theme that allows for a page to be displayed before the posts.

    Not at the moment. In future updates I’d like to add the date and allot for control over which elements can be displayed in what order. Example Title, Date, Intro, Custom-read-more-text etc. So many thoughts so little time. You could look into adding it yourself. I tried to leave good notes so people could make changes and request fixes etc. I should add the plugin. To Github.

    Are you referring the Post Tiles category key? The posts themselves order by date. I’d have to look into the order that the key is called. Alphabetical would make the most since I think. From a user standpoint. But that might not always be the case for each site.

    Also keep in mind once you update the plugin you’ll have to go back and comment it out again. I thought I had the code check to see if query was already available so it doesn’t cause redundancies. I’ll look into fixing it.

    Do you think the pagination on the top should go above or below the category key? I’m testing it in both and I think it makes more sense above the category key. What are your thoughts?

    Could you try disabling the trailing slash fixer and replace the following lines of code to see if this solves it for you.

    Replace lines 464 – 469.

    Current

    // If the total of pages is greater than one create the pagination
    if ($total_pages > 1){
    $current_page = max(1, get_query_var('paged'));
    $pagination = paginate_links(array(
    'base' => get_pagenum_link(1) . '%_%',
    'format' => 'page/%#%',

    New

    // Fix the url leading slash
    $url = get_permalink();
    $lastchar = substr( $url, -1 );
    if ( $lastchar != '/' ){
       $format = "/page/%#%";
    } else {
       $format = "page/%#%";
    }
    // If the total of pages is greater than one create the pagination
    if ($total_pages > 1){
       $current_page = max(1, get_query_var('paged'));
       $pagination = paginate_links(array(
       'base' => get_pagenum_link(1) . '%_%',
       'format' => $format,

    Basically I’m pulling the urls to see if it ends in a / and then serving up the appropriate format in the paginate_links array.
