it was simply a matter of bumping the menu over in the WP admin area under menus; if you want one to be a sub menu just click and drag it over a little and you can drag it under whichever folder you want.Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: Website is being VERY slowCool! Just deactivating JetPack seemed to help. I deleted some that I don’t use and deactivated the rest and it big time helped. I reactivated the one I do use for the before and after image slider and it seems to be running faster.

this is where I’m at now, it works with the following extensions-
http://ericwmartin.com/index.php
http://ericwmartin.com/index.php?page_id=2
I want it to work as just http://ericwmartin.com without the added index extensions.

Clayton- where do i access the root of my domain to delete the index.html page? Using filezilla I dont see any .html files whatsoever, i see index.php files in wp-admin and wp-content, tried removing both of those to no avail (and have since put them back).
Rachel- After reading on permalinks i dont know how i can use them to direct my root domain to the wordpress site?
i just want whats currently ericwmartin.com/index.php to be just ericwmartin.com 🙁
