In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Uploading my video podcastsThe other problem is that Libsyn is suggesting that I should NOT place video podcasts on their site. They suggest using YouTube. Can I use SSP for the audio podcast and then put youtube into it too. It would be nice to have both. I know other people are doing this – I just can’t figure out how they are doing it. If I could just add a video link into the text box. Is that possible?

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Uploading my video podcastsHi Hugh:
Thanks for the list of providers. I would like to use Google Drive or Drop Box as I have paid accounts and plenty of space. I did make the files publically available, and I did use the direct link, but when I look at the preview, there is no video. I don’t thinking that getting a hosting provider will solve this problem. There has to be some sort of setting or something. It’s really frustrating… Any more suggestions?

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Uploading my video podcastsI just contacted Libsyn about this issue. they had the following comment – but is this something I can do with the SSP app?
“A traditional mp3 file will range, properly encoded, between .5MB and 1MB in size per minute of audio. We offer encoding recommendations which will optimize quality with file size here:
http://support.libsyn.com/faqs/recommended-file-formats/
If you are running an hour long episode once a week (for example), you would be right up against our $15 plan. Of course, you can upgrade or downgrade at any time.
The second you move into video, however, the game changes. Video files are much larger and using a service like Libsyn is going to become more pricy for video. If you aren’t planning (I would recommend against doing so) on sending video out to iTunes, I recommend using YouTube for your video and embedding the YouTube video on your site. Use Libsyn for audio. That will cut down on your cost a lot, and prevent you from splitting your audience in iTunes and other directories for your podcast itself.”

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Uploading my video podcastsI read that I could use Google drive as long as I made it shareable to anyone. I still can not see the video in the preview. 🙁 Please help…

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] Uploading my video podcastsI have tried Dropbox and Google Drive and neither of those work. Can you please give me a few options – as I don’t know where else to turn?
Thanks, Erica

In reply to: [Blogger Importer Extended] Workaround for importing new postsI would love to fix this problem myself – but I don’t understand your fix. Can you please be more specific? Is this something that the creator can fix so that it is easy to update?
