i have followed this and its working as it should .
i have now disabled auto updates, hopefully i wont get this problem again ,

sorry i have forgotten to add on here that i have fixed this .
but thank you anyways .
just incase anyone has this problem .
it was set to 12 products per page , found this out by looking at the template.
i downloaded the php file and changed this to be a maximum of 8
