The problem is definitely on the Twitter end.
Apparently Twitter has some type of new security filter that messes up WordPress attempts to reach Twitter.
I tried the suggested solutions of changing my pass word and I even tried changing to a different Twitter account. This does not help.

I too have the same problem. What is the solution?
Mine was working fine for at least 6 post. Then suddenly it doesn’t work and my password doesn’t verify, when I test in WP. My password works fine in Twitter, but not in WP twitter option.
Does anyone know what’s happening?
