FYI for any who want, I ended up deploying the following to disable depicter in the admin area, but leave it active to the front-end, mu-plugin:
<?php
/**
* Plugin Name: Deactivate Specific Plugins in Admin
* Description: Prevents chosen plugins from loading on backend admin pages.
*/
add_filter('option_active_plugins', 'disable_plugins_in_admin');
function disable_plugins_in_admin($plugins) {
// Only target the admin dashboard backend
if (is_admin()) {
// Define the target plugin(s) by their main folder/filename string
$plugins_to_disable = array(
// 'plugin-folder-name/plugin-main-file.php',
'depicter/depicter.php'
);
foreach ($plugins_to_disable as $plugin) {
$key = array_search($plugin, $plugins);
if ($key !== false) {
unset($plugins[$key]);
}
}
}
return array_values($plugins);
}Also thank you for the work around. Sadly, something in my environment is not letting it continue to work. It works for a few pages, then I get the 60s delay back again.
In Query Monitor’s timeline it shows the 60s gap as being right after:

FROM wp_options
WHERE option_name IN ('_transient_depicter__access_token','_transient_timeout_depicter__access_token')wp_prime_option_caches()

In reply to: [WP Activity Log] Admin Blank Plugin PageNot able to disable and re-enable to test.
We had updated from 5.5.1 > 5.5.2
Performed the update via Plugins page in the WordPress dashboardForum: Plugins
In reply to: [WP Activity Log] Admin Blank Plugin PageApplied this update and initially 2 sites affected, but then over 50 I manage that all got this update all had either blank page or errors telling me that something was wrong when I tried to access /wp-admin/plugins.php on the sites.
Thankfully not affecting end user experience, but had to roll all sites back to 5.5.1 to be able to continue my monthly plug in maintenance.
Definitely something in the update needs another patch.
