On a second review, the problem appears to be not that the content is not loaded properly inside the lightbox, but that there is no way to scroll down to access it. There is no bar and the mouse wheel scrolls the page in the background.
Image size, still, is too large.
Resolved. Apparently it had something to do with the permissions. I had only allowed the root folder and not the subfolders with the 777 permission.
