Hello,
I am setting up PayPal Donations in the free version of GiveWP for our nonprofit church website.
When I select “Connect with PayPal Live,” I can sign in to our PayPal Business account and successfully complete the PayPal onboarding process. PayPal then displays: “You’re all set! You’re linked to GiveWP and ready to take payments on your site.”
However, the “Return to GiveWP” button on that PayPal confirmation screen does not respond when clicked. I have tried it multiple times.
When I manually return to WordPress and go to GiveWP → Settings → Payment Gateways → PayPal, GiveWP still says: “PayPal is currently NOT connected.”
I have repeated the connection process with the same result. PayPal reports that the connection to GiveWP was successful, but GiveWP does not retain or recognize the connection.
I also checked GiveWP → Tools → Logs after the failed return, and there were no log entries.
GiveWP version: 4.16.8
WordPress version: 7.1
PHP version: 8.3.33
Server: Apache
Site uses HTTPS.Could you please advise what may be preventing the PayPal authorization/callback from being saved by GiveWP and what we should do next?
