I was looking into things, and I think whether it has www. or not affects the images that are hosted on my site.
For example, this worked on a page:
http://emilyannward.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/goodreads-badge.png
but this image didn’t on the page (even though it clearly exists):
http://www.emilyannward.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/goodreads-badge.png
Which I guess leads me to the question — this may be something more for Arvixe and not the WP forums — of how to redirect any http://www.emilyannward.com links to emilyannward.com. But some images with http://www.emilyannward.com worked just fine!
And it also still doesn’t explain why some images not hosted by me aren’t resizing.
