Thanks for your reply. I still have question that what you mean about “restore”? I’ve ever tried to overwrite the new directory “mysql/data” by old ones, but the consequence is I couldn’t login my newly installed wordpress anymore. I may accidentally overwrite the wordpress login info by doing this. Would you please give me more specific info. about directory or files that I can overwrite. Thanks so much!!!!!

Thanks for your reply but it’s not my case actually. My hard disk is fine but the motherboard was broken so I installed my harddisk to another PC as 2nd drive (drive D) and tried to setup my blog again. The problem is that I start WinXP OS in drive C even though I also have another WinXP OS in drive D, which has totally different hardware settings. That means I couldn’t retain all the installed programs in drive D. I have to install Appserv and wordpress all over again in drive C. The question is that I’m wondering if I can just copy some files or directories to replace the currect ones so that I can recover my old posts in the wordpress. I only care about the text content in the old posts. Hope that I can still have chance to get them back!!!
