In reply to: [Gutenberg] Hero block responsiveness on mobileUpdate: when I change the pixel size of the text in the header to 30px, it becomes responsive (gets smaller and has similar proportions relative to rest of image on mobile). Above this value, the text seems to stay the same size on mobile and looks out of proportion. There may be a bug in which the text does not become responsive above a specific pixel size. Thank you for your time and help.
Thank you very much for letting me know and your quick reply, I appreciate it!
Sounds good, that is fine. It will be quick to resize them. Yes an idea for the future – or even a pro feature. Maybe by default, all images could have a 1024×1024 resize option, as I imagine this will be sufficient for most images used in these widgets.
I do see though how this might be problematic for users who wish to enable a light box option and want to see the images displayed in higher resolution.
Maybe if it is possible an image could be rendered when the page loads in a smaller form, such as 1024×1024 or 480×480 depending on the user’s preferences, and then the original image size could be loaded when a user clicks on the image. By only rendering the full size on click, the load time on click will be relatively short if the image is already optimized (say to 200kb max), and then the page will load faster by delivering smaller images if unclicked. Kind of like an extension of lazy load.
Thank you very much again for your time and reply, I appreciate it and wish you the best,
