    Thanks Stephen
I dont know what is going on with the BBpress forum but I just received a notification of another user (having similar problems) who posted a reply to this thread (in the BBpress forum) and upon clicking on the link provided the post did NOT show his reply either? We both would appreciate a solution to what is, I am sure, just due to our ignorance of PHP code be it within BBpres or WordPress child themes!
Perhaps in the meanwhile there is an ongoing problem with posting over there?

Thanks Michael, it seems I have a lot to learn about CSS but using the examples at the link you provided I have proved that the child theme is in fact working. I was unaware of the special posting method for code and will use it in future requests which I suspect there will be several.
I have therefore marked this thread ‘resolved’

    @programmin
Im not sure I know how to do that but I will try and be more precise as to what I am seeing
Copying from a formatted Word (.doc created in OO) it will not paste in the ‘visual’ tab unless the ‘T’ text option is enabled and then pastes as basic text. Copying a similar document directly from Open Office (.odt)it will post on the ‘visual tab without invoking the ‘text’ option but again does not carry the formatting over, I note that formatting of the resulting text within the WordPress editor then works fine. I also note that copy and paste from a displayed web page (in my case from Firefox) also works fine directly into the ‘visual’ tab and all formatting and links carry over.
    Hope this clarifys things.

Having just updated to 4.0 we are having the same problem as now unable to paste formatted text from a word or Open Office document and unable to preserve imbedded links. This is a MAJOR set back as most of our content is from existing documents. I have worked around it by creating an HTML document from the original and copying and pasting the source code….. NOT an option for most of our less tech members and a pain in the posterior!
A fix for this is desperately needed if we are to not have to step back to an earlier version!!

Thanks for that, is some one able to provide this as a plugin, my coding skills are minimal and I hate to go into places where I can screw thing up!
Seems like this should be built in for the next upgrade?

OK great, found it. Had not thought to open up the widget options!!
The ‘duplicate’ function make it easy for our execs to use a per-formated header and footer …. thanks.

My apologies, a 2nd trial proceeded without a problem and reinstated a user freshly deleted via the dashboard / users panel. A great utility – thanks.

    Just to clarify…

    The error log
    BEGIN 2012-12-08 13:56:11
[Line 1] Cannot create a user with an empty login name.
    BEGIN 2012-12-08 13:59:27
[Line 1] This username is already registered.

The first run is self explanatory, empty field..
The second run rejected the corrected CSV file saying that the user was already registered when in fact he was not having just been rejected due to previous missing field!?
