In reply to: Subscribe to blog plugin? Thanks for the link Zoonini.
I still don’t understand why there is a place to add subscribers by email directly in WordPress but no plug-in or widget to have them sign-up. How are you supposed to administer this?
Isn’t here a simple widget available to at least collect their email to add to the list manually?
Honestly, as far as I’ve read- using RSS readers and feedburner is past its prime.
Thanks for your advice- I really do appreciate it.

In reply to: Domain QuestionThanks govpatel,
I already have analytics on the website
If I use the subdomain for the wp blog- how would I add the sitemap with webmaster tools- would I redo the sitemap? Also the Google analytics tracking would still have to read in wordpress somehow- my development site is already on the subdomain and there is no information on its traffic showing up in analytics..
Thanks, David

In reply to: Subscribe to blog plugin? Thanks for the tips Zoonini.
All I want is a simple email-subscription like there is on WordPress.com..? I was able to import the list we have and just want it administered this way, without having two services going out.
I don’t understand why the subscription list is in WordPress without something available for readers to just add emails to like WordPress.com?
The RSS to Email is in Beta and requires users to sign up for an account. Also hasn’t been updated in ages.
Feedburner – I don’t even see an email subscription widget – it just takes users to their RSS version. More hassle there.. I thought the RSS heyday was over anyhow..
Any ideas? There has to be a way to just subscribe by email to the blog like you can in WordPress.com…

In reply to: Domain QuestionI understand that..
Considering we have a standard website at http://refugemediaproject.org/ – does this make a difference in analytics or tracking pages? Would I still need two different analytics / Webmaster tools for the sites?
Thanks, David

In reply to: Subscribe to blog plugin? Thanks Zooini,
I do know about feedburner. I would rather not have another account for this. Is there anything else available that would work the way the blog subscription in wordpress.com functions. Its so straightforward and easy- I don’t quite understand why I don’t see this as a plug-in for wp.org..
Thanks, David

In reply to: Domain Transfer – Image LinksThanks Esmi,
Unfortunately the solution for this issue at that link doesn’t really apply. If you have problems with missing images that you’ve uploaded, you need to change the path to the images on every post directly on your SQL database. For this, follow the instructions on Tamba2’s Tutorial “Moving your weblog inside your PC”.
First of all that link is for something PC based and the further instructions are more geared for something that wasn’t properly set up.
The link structure for my media looks correct, I’m just checking if there is a way to have them read without having to replace each one individually.
Thank You, David

In reply to: Transferred Site – P Tags MissingI just looked over the export file in dreamweaver..
It looks like they are there in some but not in others. I just spoke with the person who wrote the posts originally and I’m thinking this might be because he cut and pasted the posts from Word and then probably adjusted things as needed in the editor.. does that make sense?
Given that, I’m assuming my only option is to fix them manually..?
Thanks so much Esmi

In reply to: Transferred Site – P Tags MissingI see what you mean. Yes, the wordpress.com was on one of their themes..
Honestly- I don’t care where it comes from, I just need some help in fixing this.. before I have to reformat over 100+ posts.. sigh..
Thanks Esmi

In reply to: Transferred Site – P Tags MissingActually, what they said is that a lot of the p tags are NOT present on the new site.. so Perhaps its an issue with the export / import (seems to be common problem.)
Either way, I just need to fix this and greatly appreciate any help..
Thanks, David

In reply to: Transferred Site – P Tags MissingBut the paragraph spacing is wrong on the new site- the posts and pages are not spaced as they were originally written.
