I use this in my current install, seems to work fine, but I dont have a ton of plugins at the moment.
It does not look like it is being maintained.. does the job though, so too bad.

I am not a developer, but how does your changes help?
And how do I use your code if I want to? is it a simple install? or do I manually need to pacth your code in?
