i’ve tested this. It doesn’t make any difference – same results with minimal configuration (only page cache enabled).
w3tc doesn’t go below 150 ttfb on my webserver.
besides what “else” is going on besides serving the static files? all the work is done beforehand isn’t it?
edit: is this the problem?
