In reply to: Pages, posts and media missing after reinstall<bloquote>I have created a new database and installed WordPress on a new subdomain
In phpMyAdmin I dropped all the tables in the database, imported the old database
In Filezilla I copied the old wp-content folder over</bloquote>How can the urls be correct if you moved to a new address, subdomain?
I think it will be easier to follow the instructions in the Codex to get safer results.

In reply to: How do I get my page to look like this?Hi Stephen,
This is not so easy π you can choose a theme that looks like the one you have in mind and change the content or use a page builder. With a builder you can do anything you like when you learn how, with themes you have many options but before choosing you can ask the author any questions you have (especially if it is a paid one)

In reply to: Removing text from footerI think there is an option for that but i cannot tell for sure, the author should be able to assist you better on this one.

In reply to: Beginner Problems With Plugins-General Blog SetupsHi Susi,
what you need to do is open a thread for each plugin you have in the respected forum.
examples
https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/w3-total-cache
https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/web4pro-about-mePlease note that sometimes there are conflicts between plugins and themes, meaning that you cannot use plugin A and plugin B, one general way to find where problems are coming from is to disable temporarily your plugins or some and see if there was a conflict.
It is recommended to work on a dummy site until you get more experience with WordPress and then move to your live site. Most importantly don’t forget to take backups when you start adding content.

In reply to: Cannot upload imageTry deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.
If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the default theme for your version of WordPress to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

In reply to: Chrome doesn’t upload images on WordPressHi, does this mean that it works with other browsers? if that’s the case have you tried removing any Chrome addons, updating to the latest version? Also to find any other conflict did you try disabling your plugins temporarily? or even change theme?
You can take a backup first if you like

In reply to: sidebar disappeared after updating to 4.6If you use a commercial theme or plugin and need support, please go to their official support channel. In order to be good stewards of the WordPress community, and encourage innovation and progress, we feel it’s important to direct people to those official locations.
Forum volunteers are also not given access to commercial products, so they would not know why your commercial theme or plugin is not working properly. This is one other reason why volunteers forward you to the commercial product’s vendors. The vendors are responsible for supporting their commercial product.
