@onrgun Thanks for reaching out.
Can you confirm the URL of where we can see the donation form on your site? We tried to access https://americacarestoo.org/donation/ but it directs back to the homepage of your site.
The redirect to the WordPress login page is unusual. Charitable doesn’t require login to donate. Since we cannot examine the donation form currently to test, here are some recommendations:
- It’s possible there’s a setting that’s requiring users to be logged in to donate. Please try deactivating all other plugins except for Charitable and see if the issue persists. If it does, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing the donation form after each activation, to identify the conflicting plugin.
- Caching, either from a plugin or from your web host, can sometimes cause unexpected behavior. Try clearing all caches, including your browser cache, any caching plugins you’re using, and any server-side caching your host might have in place.
- Try switching to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty-Four can help rule out a theme-related conflict.
- Try resetting permalinks.
- Ensure that the Charitable plugin and all other plugins are up to date.
- If the above doesn’t produce results, we have a document with more suggestions on how to troubleshoot IPN issues.
- You can turn on WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG to see if there are any errors in the logs (turn on the logs then run the test, and then check the logs)
The pending payments you’re experiencing strongly suggest a problem with PayPal’s Instant Payment Notification (IPN) or webhooks communicating back to your site. This is how PayPal tells your website that a donation has been successfully processed. This might be a redirect or issue (caused by maybe a third-party plugin or configuration) preventing communication with PayPal.
Add “offline payments” as a gateway and test that gateway instead of PayPal and see if you get different results. Also If none of the above works, feel free to copy and paste the information in Charitable’s Tools->System Info into pastebin.com and share with us that link.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions on the above.@bart66 Apologies for the delay in the response, but I had to check with a couple of team members to ensure an accurate response.
Currently Charitable does not currently allow conencted accounts to customize payment methods through Stripe Connect. SEPA is currently not available to all users as a payment gateway option at this time. However this might change in the coming weeks for reasons related to some upcoming release releases.
Please note that we do not offer support related to customization involving Stripe Connect for users of our free plugin.
I hope this help and let me know if you have any further questions.
@wdtdeveloper thanks for reaching out.
The donation form hasn’t moved and looking at the URL there is something happening with loading of the donation form (i’m seeing non-Charitable related errors in the web console… so this may or may not be Charitable related).
My suggestion: this forum is for supporting the free version of Charitable. If you are using the Pro plugin you need to reach out to support site. If reverting to the free (non-Pro) version of Charitable resolves the issue, let the support team know.
Hope this helps. If i misunderstood your mention of “Pro” let me know. 🙂

@armenta There is a hook that can render something before the donation button on forms.
add_action( 'charitable_form_after_fields', function( $form, $view_args ) {
echo do_shortcode('[cf7sr-turnstile]');
}, 10, 2 );That should do what you are asking. As for it working as you intended, you might want to reach out to Contact Form 7 if you need support. And again, we would also suggest investigation of selectively deactivating cache on your site for certain pages.
Hope this helps!
@armenta Charitable adds a security “nonce” so that each donation is unique and checked. It sounds like your cache is “caching” that unique “nonce” on page loads which is causing the issue. The snippet removes that so it’s technically less secure hence we don’t usually recommend this. But has worked in the past and as a I mentioned when other attempts haven’t produced enough results (and might allow you to restore CAPTCHA solutions).
There SHOULD be a way to add your page(s) to an “ignore” list but you would need to contact GoDaddy about this. You shouldn’t have to manually clear the cache (that’s crazy).
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.
No problem! Thanks for being a Charitable user! 🙂
@armenta Thanks for reaching out.
Yes, that error usually shows up when the security nonce can’t be validated for some reason. It’s usually related to caching. Even if you have removed cache plugins, ensure that your hosting company hasn’t perhaps any server-side caching (check your control panels). You don’t have to disable caching completely, just disallows the URLs for caching where the donation forms appear.
You can also try this snippet, which disables the check: https://library.wpcode.com/snippet/7oq3yl5w/

Charitable creates a pending payment when the donor goes from your donation form to PayPal. There are a few reasons why a payment can STAY pending but mainly it boils down to the fact it’s not getting any communication from PayPal to update to “paid”. But if PayPal is not recording any payment for these what is likely happening is that the donor is abandoning the Paypal process after the donation form on the PayPal side.
You can manually change a donation’s status from “pending” to “paid” in your Charitable settings. However, you should only do this after you’ve logged into your PayPal account and confirmed that the funds have actually been received. If you change the status without verifying the payment, you risk incorrectly marking a donation as complete when the funds haven’t been transferred. Some other notes:
Verify Your PayPal Account: Make sure the email address associated with your PayPal account is verified.Check Currency Settings: Ensure that the currency in your Charitable settings matches the currency your PayPal account is set to receive.
PayPal IPN Troubleshooting: If PayPal HAS gotten a donation and Charitable still shows “pending” there might be an issue with your PayPal IPN. This includes steps on how to use their PayPal Tester tool and how to manually set your PayPal IPN URL. You can find the guide here: https://www.wpcharitable.com/documentation/paypal-ipn-troubleshooting/ But from your description I don’t think this is happening.
If these are legit, then reaching out to the donor asking them if they abandoned or what actions they are taking might be useful.

@nezaralmohammad Hi, thanks for reaching out.
So no, Charitable doesn’t have a “donation cart” feature (core or addons) at this time. There isn’t a reasonable recommendation currently either since part of the foundation logic is on the campaign -> donation form modal. You are free to ping support on our site if you want further insights, since that would go beyond the scope of this support area.
That being said similar functionality is on the roadmap and happy to ping you when down the road when it becomes available.
Thanks!
@armenta Thanks for reaching out and for providing those detailed examples. I can certainly understand your concern seeing submissions like that.
This is a common issue across the web and is almost always caused by automated bots. The good news is that because the donations are stuck in “pending” status, it means your payment gateway is correctly identifying them as failed or fraudulent transactions, and no money is actually being processed. Charitable creates a pending donation when form is submitted, regardless of what the gateway responses with.
These bots are likely attempting one of two things:
- Card Testing: This is the most common reason. Scammers have lists of stolen credit card numbers, and they use bots to “test” them on donation or payment forms across the internet to see which ones are still active.
- Vulnerability Probing: The bot could be testing your form for security weaknesses, trying to see if it can inject malicious code or spam.
For you the most effective method might be to try a WordPress security plugin like Wordfence that could act as a WAF (It filters traffic to and from your website, blocking malicious requests).
Charitable will also soon have the ability to set donation limits. This would be useful in your case to block these particular donations. I can certainly let you know when this feature is out.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
@laurenhaas Thank you for the kind words. This made my day. We like think much of what we do is specialized for smaller org that don’t have a lot of resources or funds. Always feel free to reach out to let us know how we are doing.
