In reply to: Need Plugin IdeasI’ve been following this nice thread for a while. Great initiative, unfortunately it’s hard to know if anyone is planning on working on any of those ideas, nor which of the ideas would be the most popular.
So I decided to create a system where you can provide your plugin ideas, and also rate other people’s ideas. It will take a bit ot time to have a good database of rated ideas, but that should motivate some coders to focus on the best ideas.
Also, it is not possible here to discuss each idea separatley which makes that thread difficult to follow.
I hope this can be helpfull, come on fill you request here:http://85.144.128.139/blog/?cat=11

In reply to: Photo’sI replied something similar earlier but if you just want some pics here and there in your post you may want to look at Lightbox JS. You can have thumbnails at any size within your post and then have the pics blown to full size as a visitor clicks on them. I love it.
Sample: http://www.digitalfrog.nl [NSFW] and the plugin is here: http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox2/Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Which image gallery plugin??Well, if what you need is just a few pictures in articles than lightbox JS might do the job for you.
Process your pictures and put the image title or whatever you like in a frame, upload the picture, create a new article with your picture inside and follow the Lighbox instructions.
People will be able to see the large version of the picture just by clicking on it. There is no need to create thumbnails, just display a small version of the large file in your message.See it in action here: http://www.digitalfrog.nl [NSFW]

In reply to: Need Plugin IdeasI would love to have a plugin that would show the EXIF information of a picture in a bubble as a surfer’s mouse would pass over it.

In reply to: Photo Gallery with Comments…If you do need to post 100’s of pictures, but just your best ones then you might as well just use one article/picture and let people leave comments ?
That’s what I did on http://www.digitalfrog.nl (do not click on this link if you have kids where you are, I shoot nightclubs…)Well, people rarely leave comments on my blog but that’s another problem 😉

In reply to: A Gallery vs PhotologLooks like we are a few with this dilemna.
I found that what worked best for me was to use wordpress as a frontpage for a photo gallery. If people care to see or know more about one event they leave the blog and get to the gallery.
I made the mistake to use a modified coppermine gallery rather than the official one… now I have 1000’s of pictures I can’t move to the real coppermine without loosing the number of views/comments etc…
I’m trying to integrate coppermine (bite the bullet) or gallery2.
Can’t make up my mind yet, the result once intgrated in wordpress seems quite similar. I must say I have not looked much into details yet.
Looks like gallery does a better job with the exif data than coppermine though.
Oh well, have the possibility to choose is a luxury I guess 🙂

In reply to: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of … error?correction to my post.
it should be memory_limit = 16M in the php.ini file
php_value memory_limit = 16M is for .htaccess fileregardless, it seems it fixed the issue for others… what could be wrong with my setup ?
thx

In reply to: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of … error?Same issue here today.
The fix should be okay, edit your php.ini file if you have access to it and change :
php_value memory_limit = 8M
to
php_value memory_limit = 16Mand restart your webserver.
That’s what I’ve done and ….. it did not fix anything as phpinfo.php still shows 8Mb !
Something, somewhere is overriding my php.ini file. Tried the .htaccess trick as well …. no luck…
here is a pointer to my phpinfo data:
