In reply to: .htaccess Problem Loading A Sub-DirectoryMany of us have encountered this before. Before you drive yourself crazy with it, I wrote up a few solutions. I was actually trying to solve a different problem, but it solved that one too:
WordPress admin password protection 404 — try the one that says Ah, try this one!
It solves the mod_rewrite problem when WordPress is in the root folder.

In reply to: Blog not showing up all of a sudden!> Can anyone tell me if it’s possible
No, we really can’t because we don’t have enough information in your specific case.
A link to the blog, your domain name, and information regarding whether the blog ever did display at your current web hosting account would be helpful.

In reply to: WordPress database error: [MySQL server has gone away]I’m not a huge fan of GoDaddy hosting, but this message:
The error that you are receiving indicates that your MySQL Queries are taking an excessive amount of time and are timing out.
essentially means that whatever you’re running on your blog (including plugins) is taking too long to run and so “times out”. This could very well be how WP is set up on *your* site or could be plugins; who knows.

In reply to: New Posts Works in FF but not in IE&Hm. Wait a minute. Where (in which folder) is the .htaccess for WordPress?
I ask because some of us were experiencing a heck of a problem (when WP is installed in the website root folder – where the home page is). While yours isn’t, if the .htaccess is there, you’ll have the same problem.
If it is, I wrote an inaptly titled article about how to fix it — the solution is in the "Ah, try this one!" section: WordPress admin password protection 404.
That said, I’m going to guess that that’s not the problem because it works in Firefox. I’m a little stumped at this point … *unless* you have different settings for IE7 and Firefox. I’d look there first.

In reply to: New Posts Works in FF but not in IE&Actually, it’s not full of bugs; I’ve set up at least a dozen WP blogs and usually haven’t had any problems.
I don’t understand what you’re trying to do. If you can post in Firefox, why don’t you just use that? If that’s not the problem, could you explain?

In reply to: Site Hacked Please HelpIt looks like your design is there, so I’m not sure it’s been hacked. Could you explain more (“messing things up” doesn’t tell us a lot)?

In reply to: Error establishing a database connectionOkay. What I was saying is that if, for instance, your host provides cPanel, and you set up a database named “xyz” — cPanel will append that to your web hosting account username (something like “username_xyz”).
It does the same thing with the database user name.
I just took a look; it looks like Bluehost does provide cPanel. How are you setting up the database?

In reply to: Site is causing lockup in IE 6 and IE 7 … sometimesThat’s what I figured — that there was code in one of the posts that was causing a problem with everything else.

In reply to: Question for the WP guru’s?Have you checked to see whether your settings are the same on both machines?
There are two places in WP that set the visual editor. Have you checked both?
