In reply to: nested menus are buggy in twentyten / WP 3.0.1Sorry, but I don’t understand the question? In appearance -> menus, on the RHS I the menu name etc. I have a list of pages, as drop and drag combo boxes. I can reposition them, but I don’t know how to assign sub-pages. Is there doc I should be looking at? Thanks again.

In reply to: nested menus are buggy in twentyten / WP 3.0.1Backing up a bit, do I need to specify a “Primary Menu” on the menus page?
This is what I think is broken, please correct me if I’m wrong. If I do specify (non blank) “Home” from the combo box, then I’m in the situation where the drop downs don’t occur (per http://blog.internetmarketinggettingstarted.net/)
Let’s say I leave “Primary Menu” blank in the combo box. Then I have a menus Home, Regions, About etc. How do I go about re-ordering them? As well, I don’t know how to create a Custom Item (link to a hand coded page). So leaving it blank isn’t such a good option.
Thanks a ton for you help.

In reply to: nested menus are buggy in twentyten / WP 3.0.1I tested this on a hosted WP with TwentyTen. Here is what I did. Please tell me I did something stupid. I did RTFM. http://codex.wordpress.org/Appearance_Menus_SubPanel
The rub is that I can’t control the order and/or add a custom menu item if I leave it blank in menus.
Steps
——–
in pages > I create
Next page
– sub pagein appearance -> menus, I create a menu “Home”
in appearance -> theme -> location, I leave blank. In the menu I see
Home
Next Page
– sub pagein appearance -> theme -> location I select “Home”. In the menu I see:
Next page // with no childrenForum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: nested menus are buggy in twentyten / WP 3.0.1@esmi can’t thank enough for answering up. Can you recommend a known to work with 3.0.1 theme with working menu/submenus that I can test against? Is there a quick way I can import test/demo site and see if my site is working properly.
I’m at a real loss, I can’t believe someone else isn’t having this same problem.
I don’t really have the bandwidth to debug in the php, why my menu-header and children array?
Thanks again.

In reply to: nested menus are buggy in twentyten / WP 3.0.1I deleted all the plugins from the plugins folder. There are no plugins in the admin page. I go and add a new page using new page. I make it’s parent, let’s call it page1. The new child of page1 shows with a dash. It has the path I would expect in pretty url. I go to the appearance->menus. I have menu called home, and in page1 is in the menu list. The child will now show as a sub-menu, which makes sense because it doesn’t show in firebug. Could I be hitting the 16 menu issue mentioned in WP-track? If I go into mysql, can I merely delete all the menus and reset the auto index and start all over.
This is my first try at bending WP into a platform and it’s not working.
I have a very vanilla setup, brand new on the 3.0.1. I really don’t have the luxury of debugging the php.
Please help! I’m really stuck.
Thanks,
Doug
