Thanks projectheresy and bitkahuna!

I over-wrote the wp-admin and wp-includes and the root WP folder files EXCEPT wp-config.

My whole site was dead because of the update WP 3.1

My issue is solved by adjusting “Allow my status to be shown on the web” in the Skype client settings under Options > Privacy
