I got a further reply from my theme developer saying this:

We see that the plugin uses register_activation_hook instead of the init hook which is probably the source of the issue.
Other plugins use the init hook to register the custom post type which our theme can catch.

Is this something you can change? Thanks!

Hi @podcastmotor Yes it is checked. Maybe to clarify, I can use Elementor for the Podcast post type, that’s not the problem.
The issue is that when I go into Elementor I cannot select to display the Podcast post type. My theme (JNews) has an option of selecting the content type I want to display, see here: https://a.cl.ly/KouwevmJ (posts or pages) but there should also be the option of Podcast. And it was there!
I checked with the theme developers and they told me this:

We downloaded the plugin and tested it from our side. We do encounter the issue you described.

We see that the plugin does not register the custom post type in a standard manner or the plugin did not want to register the custom post type as a regular custom post type which causes our theme to not catch this custom post type.

Woocommerce and other plugins that registered the custom post types do not have this issue.

Please contact the plugin author to fix this issue.
