I had wrongly set up the bucket in GAE.

The link above is of the site. You can see in the foot note that the social icons are squares.
The Facebook one is working because i changed a bit the code for the “myspace” icon to show the Facebook one from the social icon jpeg asset.
You can see a similar behaviour in the menu page “chi siamo”.

Adding to the previous question: Does anything need to be done for Font Awesome to work properly (i.e change the path name of directories, or anything to the css files )?
