In reply to: Can’t edit main theme php files after upgrading to 4.9Should I understand from what you wrote me before, that you’d recommend to remove the WP-SpamShield completely? Do you think that would resolve my issue?

In reply to: Can’t edit main theme php files after upgrading to 4.9I disables all plugins save for Jetpack, since I am afraid that would do damage. And also since it is an official WordPress plugin.
You asked me to look for a certain value. Here it is.
Directive Local Value Master Value
session.auto_start Off OffWhat does that mean for me?

In reply to: Can’t edit main theme php files after upgrading to 4.9I will do as you say and disable the plugins in the evening. At the same time, please explain why. Since everything was fine before I installed version 4.9, including all plugins, it seems reasonable to assume that they are not the problem. Please explain.
Thanks, Dovid

In reply to: Can’t edit main theme php files after upgrading to 4.9@backups I am not sure I understand the question. If I understand correctly, then you mean what domain my WordPress blog is located on. That would be my own website, http://www.doviddebresser.info, which is hosted by Hostgator.

In reply to: Can’t edit main theme php files after upgrading to 4.9I tried to edit Twenty Fourteen: content-page.php and receive the following error: “Unable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors, so the PHP change was reverted. You will need to upload your PHP file change by some other means, such as by using SFTP.”
I don’t know what good intentions programmers had, but I want to be able to edit my files. For me that is a deal breaker.
I this going to be fixed?
Sincerely, Dovid
That would be the Structured Data Testing Tool at https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/
The problem was already resolved yesterday be deactivating and reactivating Jetpack, at the advice of a Jetpack helpdesk representative.
