Sorry I havn’t updated this plugin for a while.
Having a bit of a problem with the Gutenberg installation.
It takes more digging into the JavaScript than I expected to solve some issues and I’m wondering to ask for some help.
So I think there will be a new release soon.

Sorry, I admit there are some things that need to be improved.
Currently working on the integration with the Gutenberg blocks.
And indeed, I should have updated this earlier.
However, this remark seems a bit odd to me.
I searched my code but cannot find the http links you mention.
Can you post some more details on this issue?

Regarding your two problems:
- Don’t know what might be the problem here. As far as I know, there is some difference in how WordPress treats pages and posts but not regarding the processing of shortcodes or media. And I have tested this myself on my own test site and indeed, I do not see any issues.
- What you describe is indeed expected behaviour. The plugin generates a list of media to display using the default gallery function of WordPress which is not really capable of handling video media. That’s one of the reasons I made it possible to let another plugin handle the list generated. Mayby you should try to find another plugin which can present the video’s the way you want.

No problem.
As a matter of fact, you just found some missing functionality.When only using the shortcode WP_MCM without any parameters, it should show the media that have been assigned the category that is defined as default in the settings.
This works fine as long as the default is set to some category defined. However, when the default value is set to “No default category” (as I suspect is as in your case), it didn’t show anything.In V1.9.4, I have fixed it in such a way that it shows all media that have not been assigned a category (yet).

Would it help if you’d use the shortcode option to pass the output of the plugin to a gallery plugin? This gallery plugin should then be configurable to only show max 4 media.

Do you have the same issue when you deactivate the WP-MCM plugin?
If it does, then the cause is something different.
If the issue only occurs when WP-MCM is active, could you then send me some more information? Maybe a screen dump?
