  • I have the same problem. I can see comments on the dashboard, and the indicator that I have comments to moderate, but when I click on the actual “comments” section, I see nothing. Even though it clearly says I have comments to moderate, when I click on that function, it says there are none to moderate.

Also, I can’t see or edit scheduled posts either. I don’t know if the two are related, but they are frustrating.

    Michael,

Sorry I am taking so long to reply. I am currently visiting relatives and the time for internet access is a little sporadic.

In the wp_posts table the ‘future’ post has a post_status of ‘future’ and the future post that is now published has a post_status of ‘publish’.

Both have a post_type of ‘post’.

Do you see the records in wp_posts table?

I am just beginning with WordPress, so I am not sure how to find the wp_posts table.

Just to provide more information: I have two WP blogs on Yahoo web hosting, and neither allows me to see scheduled posts. I did upgrade to version 2.5.1 using the InstantUpgrade Plug-in from 2.3.3 on both of them. I am not sure if this would be part of what is causing it or not.

    Thanks for you continued help,
    David

    Michael,

Thanks for your reply. I have written a future post, and after I finish, it says it has posted (and I see the view/edit links immediately after I publish it). However, after I go back to the “manage->posts” area, the posts aren’t there to edit. I don’t see a “scheduled” filter. Also, the posts never actually post.

I downloaded the wp-cron plugin and installed it.

    It currently says:

    Entry #1: Anytime after Fri Jun 13 00:41:52 2008 execute tasks: publish_future_post

    Entry #2: Anytime after Fri Jun 13 16:42:30 2008 execute tasks: publish_future_post

However…I scheduled a post for about 5 minutes in the future. It showed up on the wp-cron screen. A few minutes later, after it should have published, it had disappeared from the wp_cron dashboard screen, but did not publish.

According to the Security Scan Plugin, here is my hosting account info (Yahoo Web Hosting):

    Apache/1.3.37 (Unix) FrontPage/5.0.2.2510 mod_fastcgi/2.4.2
    PHP 4.3.11
    MySQL 4.1.14

    Thanks for your help,

    David

Here is a link to a post I made that explains how I easily and painlessly upgraded on Yahoo Webhosting:

What I wrote at the link above worked well for me. If you do it that way, I would be interested in how it works for you.

I just noticed that Yahoo Web Hosting now uses WP 2.3.3 as the default version of WordPress. I was encouraged by that since I had been stuck at 2.0.2 for so darn long!

I started a new blog at 2.3.3 and then installed the Instant Upgrade Plug-In. When I ran the plug-in, I had to choose the HTTP upgrade, because the FTP option would not work. Within seconds, I had 2.5.1 running on my Yahoo hosted test blog without any fuss.

I did run into one problem when I upgraded my personal blog from WP 2.0.2 to 2.5.1 using the Instant Upgrade Plug-In. I noticed that the links wouldn’t work (each time they tried to connect they caused an error in which Firefox said “the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete”). I am not sure what caused it. Nonetheless, I exported the contents of that blog, deleted it, and the started a new blog at the same subdomain, importing the old material. The new blog began as WordPress 2.3.3., and then I upgraded using the plug-in, and so far, 2.5.1 is installed and working with no problems! I am very happy about this because I like Yahoo Web Hosting, but have been very annoyed at their outdated version of WordPress they offer!

Yes, I did that through ACEHtp by clicking on the properties of the file and typing in 777 in the appropriate box. Unfortunately, that didn’t make the file visible (unless there is some sort of delay).
