In reply to: [WooCommerce] Ordering products by ID in a certain waylorro,
Thanks. I will give it a try and let you know.
This only affects certain products, not every product. She wants certain prodcuts to represent a theme on her clothing site.
One theme is called over the top and she wants to show certain garments in a certain order. Do you now if setting the menu order will affect other display shortcodes, such as displaying items by slug?
Thanks again for your help.
Hi, mbrsolution and thanks for the link. Yes, I did, just as explained in the instructions.
mbrsolution, thanks for the reply.
Where is the correct area? Test area?
right now the site is at toba.theafabgroup.com/contact-toba.
Thank you for the help.
mbrsolution,thanks for the reply.
Yes, I have done that. First thing I thought of in this.
Update. The shortcode I used is the first one, [si-contact-form form=’1′], the default short code. I copied the settings to another form with a different short code number and it seems to be working.
I still can’t change the button color though. Weird. Checking the button color on Inspect Element shows the color number I changed it to is there, but on the page it’s default gray. Sounds like somebody marked it !important somewhere.
If you are still have trouble with Yoast SEO, consider using the Google XML Sitemap plugin. I used it as a replacement and it works with no issues. https://wordpress.org/plugins/google-sitemap-generator/
Hi noobwp86,
I half-way guessed about what Google was looking for here, and I used the structured data tool in Webmaster Tools (or search console it is now) to fix the problem. In my case, the issue was on the page I set up for a blog and Google did not/could not/would not make sense of the featured image.
There is a process Google will lead you through if you use the structured data tool, although I can’t say it was all that helpful. It did work, so I am calling it a win, but I don’t understand why they made an issue of it in the first place.
It was one of these things when I just had to keep hacking away and eventually I found a solution Google liked or at least accepted and it did stop the message. After it was over, the whole experience left me with a feeling of “so what?”
amboutwe,
My host, Host Gator, at some point a while back, switched from Apache to NGINX. Host Gator is a popular hosting company here in the States. Could that be a source of a number of these 404 problems? As your article mentions, my fix was to just to resave the permalinks, but I could easily see this server switch as a source of a lot of problems and a lot of headaches for Yoast.
For me, the issue is resolved, or at least I know how to fix it.
I had a similar issue, thinking it’s a bug in Yoast SEO. Yoast says it’s an issue with poorly coded themes and the fix for me was to re-save the permalinks, well coded themes, poorly coded themes or whatever.
I can’t tell you what the real issue is, was, but that little trick seems to work.

For the record, I have used this plugin a bunch. My clients like it and the support is excellent. I came here to download yet another copy for a soon to be happy client. Makes even a putz like me a look like a pro. My little secret weapon I am glad to share with anyone.

In reply to: Pharma HackJames,
Good point, but
strrevin a line of code is a very red flag, I would think. From what I have read (my php skills are weak at best) it’s used for almost nothing else except for mischief.I did learn that
base64_decodeis legitimately used in a lot of themes and plugins, butevalis another obvious red flag. Then again, what do I know?
Thanks again for the response.

In reply to: Pharma HackJames, thanks for the reply.
The hack is covered by the guide. I understand the steps to take. I have found removed the PHP script. It’s just finding what the strings are related to this hack in the database. If I can find those, life is good. I am close and I want to finish it.
What I find interesting is that I routinely checked with Surcri to look for malware. In researching this thing, they admit it’s something their security software can’t find. That’s not real comforting that this hack has been going on for years, coming up to a decade, and finding it still eludes malware security software. The article I referenced from Surcuri was written several years ago, but I would assume that it would be updated if things changed. They have not, apparently.

In reply to: Pharma HackJames,
Thanks for the reply and links (which I have read), but I assure you I am calm, if a bit tired and frustrated.
I have done everything I am supposed to do to rid the site of the Pharma Hack, save one. I can’t find the string in the options table. It is there somewhere.
I have always been fastidious about keeping the core, themes and plugins updated. I have changed passwords for everything. I have contacted GoDaddy about this (good luck was their reply, more or less and I have seen that sites on GoDaddy were exposed to some vulnerabilities in my research) and spent a lot of time finding the cursed script looking in all of the suggested places. Found a neat little script that located it for me.
My one lone task remaining is finging where this thing’s entry is in the database. That I cannot locate. Suggest search terms I have read to tfing this in the DB were all negative. I wondered if anyone else has/had a similar issue and solved it.
Any thoughts about finding it in the database will be welcome.
Saw someone else post about this. His experience was that the sitemap started working about six hours after install, which makes no sense, but there it is.
