El botón parece funcionar con normalidad, si lo que buscas es que aparezca la ventana de chat, debes configurarla con algún mensaje. Mira la documentación:

However there is also the option to choose whether you want to open the desktop app or WhatsApp Web. Obviously we are aware that the best user experience is on Mobile. Thank you very much for your comments, we will continue to be attentive to the improvements that may occur and trying to improve Joinchat.
