This seems to be a third party plugin related issue, you can try to deactivate all your plugins besides Elementor and see if it changes something. If it does, reactivate your plugins one by one to find the culprit. Make sure to have a backup of your website to prevent any loss of data.

The issue does not seem to be due to 3.1.0 update but may be more to your website environment.
