Thank you for helping. Bluehost is the new host and the name servers are pointing correctly.
Yesterday, when I changed the name of the old folder in the file manager (the folder that I had transferred from the old host), I was able to create a new WP site that went up immediately. So, it’s not a problem with the path.
But it was a starter site, so I started moving all the old files into the new folder, thinking it would change the site, now that I had it up again. I was able to get the correct theme up on the new site and kept moving the files one by one. Something went wrong when I moved “wp-settings.php” — the site stopped working.
So, I decided that, since I don’t know enough about php to understand why it’s doing that, I was willing to build the site from scratch. I have the theme and all the art, so that’s good. But where is the text? I can’t find the text in the files. I did a search for some of the terms used on the site and nothing comes up. Where does WordPress keep the text? So, I’m back to where I started.
