I understand. Although leaving out depreciated elements could save you a ton of work later on :-).
Anyhow, I found out that it was about preme( mysql_error() on line 359 of version 1.3; depreciated in PHP5.5 and removed in PHP7.X. Seems like you add this only in the latest release of your plugin; that explains also why I didn’t encounter this issue before.
For people who experience the same issue: removing / out commenting line 359 fixes it!
