  • Not sure if it will be the same resolution for you, but I found out why I was experiencing these issues.

The plugin we were using “BackUpWordPress” was screwing up and somehow rolling back to a specific time where certain plugins were not active. So about every hour or so, the plugins would reset back to that time frame. It did not matter if we added or removed new plugins, anything past that specific rollback time would get deactivated.

It was the same for the Woocommerce Data Update button. That button prompt would get rolled back and appear again, even though we were on the latest version for Woocommerce.

So if you are still having this issue, you can try disabling your backup plugin for a few days and see if that resolves your issue. It has been about 2 days for me and it all looks like it’s back to normal. That seemed to be the fix for my setup.

I started experiencing a similar issue as you. Along with the Data Updater constantly appearing (Even though we are on the latest version) a handful of my plugins seem to get deactivated on their own about every hour.

I am not on Hostgator, but I am on a VPS plan.

Did you ever resolve your issue?
