Thank you for such a considered review, and coming from fifteen years of building on WordPress it means a great deal.
The points you picked out are the ones we care most about. Keeping the free version genuinely useful rather than a teaser was a deliberate choice, and hearing that the documentation is easy to follow is especially good to know, since that is the part most people never mention.
Since you wrote this we have shipped 0.16.x, which brings a much faster editor preview, smoother vertical scrolling and a reader theme that keeps the toolbar readable on any background.
