As a follow-up I did try “Vimeo” as well with the same result “could not find thumbnail for this video.” It seems crazy that when you go to debug section and do the TEST MARKUP it finds the thumbnail no problem, and then SAVING TO MEDIA LIBRARY it passes all of the tests. It only fails in the “new post” section of wordpress and you really don’t know it has failed until after you have published the post.
