I think it’s better write suggestions on the issues tab on github than here.
So, I’ll write some suggestions there.

My code was overloaded by a plugin called Relevanssi… after hours of trying to understand why… 🙁 ….

I have the same problem here. My filters callback on posts_where not working on search query. No clue about why.
