Yes, it is fixed in the new wordpress instance and works perfect as it always did in the past!

Hi Steve, thanks for your help! I wasn’t able to figure it out as it seemed version 3.99 was installed. I made a new wordpress installation, migrating the articles and sites and setting everything else up again from the ground …

Issue resolved. Thanks for the support in general and fast response from WP Google Maps support!
There was confusion because of the plugin name. I use another one.
