can PMPro assign existing roles like ‘Author’ when a user subscribes?

In reply to: [Update Control] Updates not happeningYes, I realize that the plugin just sets the settings and from there it’s down to how the updates roll out. I was just wondering if you had more insight into that. I’m just concerned with the amount of time that has passed here and only a couple of sites have updated.
Also, I had expected the plugins to update without relying on a core update, otherwise the setting isn’t that useful. I wouldn’t really want plugins, in general, waiting around that long for an update.
I haven’t tried the plugin. All of these sites announced themselves as background update ready when I initially upgraded to 3.7 and I haven’t really thought about that since. I’ll put this on a couple and see what comes up.
Thanks for working through this with me.

In reply to: [Update Control] Updates not happeningSo, the core updates will be triggered by .org, right? I still have many sites that have not updated to 3.8.1, but that is just because WordPress.org has not reached them in the roll out yet?
What triggers the plugin updates? I also have plugin updates available on most of the sites that have not gone through yet after a number of days.

In reply to: [Update Control] Updates not happeningHi Chip,
I didn’t have it set to push the 8.0 update. I set it up after 8.0 and set up everything to do major updates and plugins.
I just got an email from one of the blogs that it has updated to 3.8.1, and clicking through to that blog there are no plugins needing updates, so maybe it is just a matter of timing?
Does it notify on plugin updates as well?
Some plugins common to all of my installs:
WPSEO
WordFence
Get Off Malicious Scripts
Bulletproof SecurityAll of these blogs are hosted at Media Temple on GS accounts.

In reply to: Password keeps expiring for wordpress.orgOkay. I finally figured this thing out.
In Chrome, at least, I did not go on to any other browsers, it looks like having more than one tab open at the same time with a WordPress.org page loaded prevents me from seeing the site as though the login were successful.
If i subsequently close any other open wp.org tabs and refresh the one with the password error, it clears the error and shows me as logged in.
The problem turns out to be that this plugin is, for some reason being interpreted as a WordPress specific SQL Injection Attack by http://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-firewall/
Whitelisting the options page and the save variable bypasses this and allows the plugin to function normally.

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Contact Form 7 PayPal IntegrationWould you not be able to use a radio group and then use the [donation-amount] CF7 variable from the form for populating the amount in the on_sent_ok value?

In reply to: Password keeps expiring for wordpress.orgAlso, please note that as soon as I complete a password recovery, I am able to log in again whether I’ve done anything with cookies or anything else at all. I simply copy the password from the email, copy it to last pass and log in as though nothing had ever happened.
Forum: Everything else WordPress
In reply to: Password keeps expiring for wordpress.orgYes, I’m actually using lastpass to store and populate the fields and I have only one record in it for wordpress.org, but I’ve copy/pasted and I’ve straight typed things too all with the same results.
I’m not saying it’s not something I’m doing wrong. I’ve got no illusions to being the brightest guy around here or anything, I’m just describing my experience.
Next time it happens, I’ll make a screen cast and maybe you will see something I’m doing to cause the issue, though I don’t have this kind of issue anywhere other than here at wordpress.org.

In reply to: Password keeps expiring for wordpress.orgOtto. I will make a movie next time it happens, but whether it “can’t” or not it *is* even with ALL cookies deleted. I specifically went in and deleted all cookies, closed the browser, re-opened it and logged into make. then failed to log in to /support/.
Then I attempted to log in from a browser I’ve never used to log in to the site from before with identical results.
I’m not trying to be difficult, but when you say it “can’t”, something is disconnected, because it *is*.
I don’t know if this matters or not, but I believe, now that I’ve been really paying attention to this, it is always make. that I can still log in.

In reply to: Password keeps expiring for wordpress.orgI will make a screencast movie for you in a couple weeks when it happens again.
Forum: Everything else WordPress
In reply to: Password keeps expiring for wordpress.orgNo. Clearing cookies does not correct this problem. I have deleted every cookie on the machine and still the only way for me to log in to /support/ is to get a new password.
Forum: Everything else WordPress
In reply to: Password keeps expiring for wordpress.orgI just, effectively did that, Otto. I have never logged into WordPress in Opera before, so no cookies, and the first place I tried to log in was /support/ then when I got an error I went to /plugins/ and got the same result, then I went to make. and it logged in perfectly. While still logged in at make. I went back to /support/ and got the error again.
I then sent a password change request and, with the new password and all cookies still in place, logged in like there was never a problem.
I have to go through this routine every couple weeks.

In reply to: Password keeps expiring for wordpress.orgWhat about looking at the account in the DB to see if there is some corrupted or stray data that is causing the issue?
