In reply to: [WP Super Cache] WP SC and CloudFlareHi,
There are two general causes where customers might see an issue using our service:
1 (most common). Something on their host/server is blocking requests from our IPs(firewall, plugins, etc.). CloudFlare IPs should be whitelisted to prevent errors like 522 or 521.
2. An attack may cause temporary issues in a data center, but all other data centers would still be online and fully operational (in other words, only some visitors might see an issue). We do post updates on our CloudFlare status page about known issues.

In reply to: [WP Super Cache] WP SC and CloudFlareHi,
The CloudFlare.com site is not on the same piece of the CloudFlare network. If the CloudFlare.com site has brief issues of any sort, then it does not equate to issues on actual customer sites.

In reply to: [WP Super Cache] WP SC and CloudFlareHi,
The CloudFlare.com site having temporary issues does not affect customer sites at all (not in the same location).

In reply to: [Social Gallery Lite] Comments disappeard, Social Gallery and CloudflareHi,
Do you have Rocket Loader enabled? That’s the only thing that I can think of that might be at play here, so you can try turning that off in your performance settings.
“Not a problem for the help, and as always, thanks to damoncloudflare, the worlds best support guy :)”
I probably fail more than I win…haha.
You’re seeing CloudFlare’s IPs because we’re a reverse proxy for sites. You need to install something to restore the original visitor IP, so mod_cloudflare or the CloudFlare WordPress plugin should fix the issue.

In reply to: SSL Mismatch using cloudflare CDNHi,
You would have to upgrade to a paid plan for the SSL to work, if you are running that subdomain through us with SSL enabled on it (the free option is not available through a hosting partner).

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] Enabling Cloudflare with W3TCHi,
PageRules can be used on www as well (mydomain.com is just an example).
“should I also include the asterisks? “
Yes, if you want it to wildcard. Say you’re doing one for the wp-admin section, for example, it would cover something like:yoursite.com/wp-admin/
yoursite.com/wp-admin/adifferenturlForum: Plugins
In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] Enabling Cloudflare with W3TCHi,
You shouldn’t have any downtime switching to our nameservers.
I assume you’re using apps for mail. This will also work fine as long as you have the correct mail and mx records in your zone file for the domain.

Apparently a change has been already made that we’re waiting for a release to push it out.

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] Enabling Cloudflare with W3TC“would you recommend I sign up/set up via Cloudflare.com instead of via my hosting partner?”
If you want us to protect more than CNAMEs, yes.
“Can I just setup W3TC Cloudflare extension without doing any of Step 1?”
No, since the extension is not what activates our service.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] Enabling Cloudflare with W3TCHi,
“1) Setup Cloudflare via HostGator Cpanel “
This is fine. Please keep in mind that we can only provision CNAMEs signing up through a hosting partner (like www).
“(2) Install W3TC Cloudflare extension – with this, I don’t need the Cloudflare WordPress Plugin right?”
Correct. You don’t need the CloudFlare plugin if you’re already using W3TC.“I’m already using Autoptimize to minify and compress my CSS and JS – so I just have to ensure I disable them on Cloudflare and W3TC right?”
Yes, or you will see an issue at some point. You only want to be running one minify option on a site at a given time. Some other tips for CloudFlare and WordPress

In reply to: [WordPress HTTPS (SSL)] Using this plugin with CloudFlares new Free SSLHi,
You still may need to manually change the content to load from https:// and not http:// on your site (something like this may help as well).

In reply to: [Stop Spammers Classic] Do I really need the CloudFlare plugin? The panel options at partners do let you do certain things without logging in to your CloudFlare account. You still get an account when it is created through a partner, and that account does let you turn features on/off in your CloudFlare account. You will also have an API key in the CloudFlare account that was created through a hosting partner.
“If, however, I want to use straight CloudFlare, I have to turn off CloudFlare at SiteGround, create an entry at CloudFlare.com and point my DNS to the cloudflare dns servers.”
Yes, this is also an option. The direct signup is different because we can only provision CNAMEs through a hosting partner’s panel option.
“And one thing that bothers me about the CPANEL CloudFlare is that I can’t configure the CloudFlare free SSL.”
We have to be managing the DNS to activate the free SSL option, which explains why it isn’t available through a hosting partner sign up.
“There is no API key involved.”
You will have an API key available regardless of how you signed up, direct or through a partner.
I can assure you that you have CloudFlare accounts for the domain(s) you have signed up through a partner. That’s simply how the integration works…

In reply to: [Stop Spammers Classic] Do I really need the CloudFlare plugin?” all I know is that Dreamhost is a Cloudflare hosting partner. H”
Correct.
“However they are integrating Cloudflare with their hosting, it is invisible to their clents “
It isn’t. A client specifically has to turn us on in Dreamhost’s panel. It is not something that is turned on by default.
The API key would be in the CloudFlare account created when the customer turned us on at the hosting provider.
